    I think the majority of Octopus customers are on a version of the Flexible tariff these days. You can pay a DD or a bill at the end of the month, but it costs more to pay the bill.
    Technically that's not 100% correct, you can elect to may by monthly DD as well as whole bill variable DD at no additional cost i.e. whole bill monthly direct debit, in the summer months your bills will be lower and in the winter months your bills will be a lot higher, but if you're happy and comfortable with that there's no extra charges it's the same overall cost as monthly DD but with no build up of credit etc ;)
