Last time I had my bathroom done I bought the suite and the tiles, and I paid a plumber and a tiler separately.  I think the only thing the plumber supplied was the shower screen.  Looking at some of the prices people are being quoted for new bathrooms, I would seriously consider taking this approach again.

Two quotes I got back, both are over £7k for just the labour. A good couple grand over what I expected (and was told). Interestingly, it's only £800 more than the showroom who included all the products to be fitted, aside from the tiles, in the price.

Unless you know the fitter or have a very good reason to go with someone else, I would be inclined to use the showroom fitters if the price is similar.  That way there shouldn't be any, "The bath creaks because it's a cheap one" or "The biscuit edge on the tiles is visible because you chose the wrong thing."  That's assuming the fitters are employed by the showroom and not self-employed like a lot of carpet shops do.

I forgot to point out that the showroom quote has everything in the same place so little plumbing work aside from connecting the new products.
