Vodafone charging for insurance

I am really cross at Vodafone. I got a new phone from them in the Summer and on the last couple of statements there is a charge of £6.95 for insurance. I thought it was a mistake and when I eventually got around to calling them today they said that they were going to charge me this every month in case the phone was lost or stolen. The cost to replace the handset is £120 and the cheapest handset they sell is £25. I can't believe they had the cheek to charge me this without making it clear up front that they were going to. When I spoke to customer (dis) service they asked me why didn't I call them when I first saw it on my statement. When I asked them why didn't they tell me they were going to charge it to me in the first place they made out it was my own fault for not checking my phone statements. Is there anything I can do to get the money back. I can't bear to have to ring their call centre. The staff are complete imbeciles.:mad::mad:

  • to my experience, writing a letter to complain is more effective. Calling customer service will just waste your time
