Hi, my landlord has increased my rent by £40pm saying increased water rates . The building I live in haa 13 ensuite rooms. no meters . I can accept the 7.5 % average increase but want to know if the landlord pays more the more rooms the building has?

Number of rooms does not determine the amount your landlord pays/
If there is one meter for the building - but none in each room - it is the amount of water used that determines the bill.
If no meter the bill will be determined by the Rateable Value or an assessed charge.
Landlords are not allowed to make a profit on water charges to sub-let rooms. That said a 7.5% increase is not unusual.0
