Parking Eye Charge Notice

Hi,

Apologies if this is already discussed, as I tried to find relevant information on the forum but did not find exact answer.

I recently visited "Radisson Hotel & Conference Centre London Heathrow" to pick a friend who was staying at the hotel. I went to the reception pick up area and waited there for the friend. My friend had trouble finding the right exit so took longer than anticipated. However, I stayed in my car at the front of the hotel and did not park anywhere in the car park.
Surprised at first but got a Penalty charge notice from Parking Eye for staying/parking in car park for 28mins. £60 if paid within 14 days otherwise £100. I called hotel to explain but they said they do not deal with it and I should speak to Parking Eye. As per them Pick up or drop time is limited to 15mins (which I should have known but there is no board mentioning this). I have emailed the hotel and asking if Manager can waive this but have not received response.

Question is, do Parking Eye take it to the court ? If so do I have any ground to challenge it ? Is it worth fighting for or Shall I just pay it and accept the Matrix ?

Thanks

Is the PE Notice to Keeper compliant with the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012 (Schedule 4), does it have a paragraph on the reverse side headed Protection of Freedoms Act?

PE do take some cases to court, but not that often these days, often depends on whether their contract principal agrees to that happening.

Send a reminder to the manager to try to get this cancelled before you appeal to PE - but don't miss their 28-day appeal deadline.

You should also contact the Radisson CEO if you fail to get reply/satisfaction from the hotel manager.

The hotel will cancel it.  Speak to the Manager or CEO to escalate the complaint.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes the Notice Charge mentions Paragraph 9(2)(f) of Schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. What does it mean btw ?

I have sent reminder email to the hotel but again no response. Spoke to the reception but they are not willing to help but I will try it again. How do i find the email address of Radisson CEO, would he be the same for all Radisson hotels ?

I just put radisson hotel ceo email into google and the first item returned included the name of the ceo and his email address.

You try it. This google thingy will really take off when everybody has access to it.

It means that they can hold the registered keeper liable for the charge, whether he/she was driving or not.

Just little update on the issue, I escalated to a CEO radisson, Customer Services and apparently got replied from a GM of blu edwardian radisson hotel who said that he and his CEO only manages Edwardian Radisson Hotel. But he forwarded it to the GM of the relevant hotel. Upon that someone responded and asked for the ticket copy and since then has gone quiet. I have chased him twice, emailed again to GM edwardian hotel who again sent a reminder to the relevant hotel GM but absolutely no response from hotel itself (Radisson Hotel & Conference Centre London Heathrow). The only option I am left with is to email CEO of the Radisson Global in Brussels.

Then I would suggest you do that.
I am sure Federico J. González would be delighted to hear how you are being ignored by his people in England.

So finally I have got response from the hotel that they have requested ParkingEye to cancel the charges and they will let me know once they will get reply. Now I wonder do I need to write it to Parking Eye that hotel has requested cancellation and they should look into it. Or shall I wait for hotel to confirm (which they may or may not do it).

The advice seen on here for cancellations is to go to the ParkingEye website as if to pay (but DON'T actually pay) and you can see if the PCN is still there.

Relatives have had two ParkingEye PCNs recently and both have been cancelled by the retailer / hotel. As advised if you log on to through the ParkingEye payment portal with your ref number and vehicle registration you should see the balance owed is £0.00 If it has been cancelled.

You should also get a letter from them confirming the charge has been cancelled
