Recently visited my brother in law in Spain (he lives in Malaga) and he has one mobile contract Multi Sim with:
- One phone number with two sims (multsim)
- One Sim in his Phone
- The second Sim on his Mobile 4g Router
- His data plan is one and shared (his phone consumes and the router consumes)
This is the product in Spain (just let Chrome translate the page) : https://www.movistar.es/particulares/movil/servicios/multisim/
Cheers,
Andy

Unless there was a significant price reduction for sharing a number can't really see any advantage over just having two SIMS.
Vodafone have a plan-sharing scheme, "OneNumber", but that's just used when the second device is a 4G smartwatch or tablet with eSIM.0 -
I would guess it allows you to share. a data allowance between two devices, which is preferable to having unused data on one plan and going over on the other. The issue for me is if both sims were in phones could one make a call while the other was on a call?0

Orange used to offer this but it didn't work very well. I understand that where this is offered in other countries there are limitations (one is essentially data only)
If one sim were an esim in a watch then what you want exists but you will pay extra per month.
On EE you can gift data between devices on the same account. They will have different numbers.2 -

Regarding the call you would get a call on both devices the first who picks up takes the call. In this case, its not an issue as the second device is a router.0 -

Gifting data wouldn't work as I want to do exactly the same and I need a SIm for the extra device, Im happy to pay a couple of pounds for it as everything would be much easier.
Do you know who offers the esim with the same number? that could work: I would use the eSim in the iPhone and the physical sim in the router.0 -
Gifting is the only way to go, you'll need a cheap tariff sim for the router on the same account as the phone) and then gift data from the phone.
The watch esim solution won't work with a router as it needs support in the firmware of the phone and watch. Which the router won't have.
Anyway, with Continuity, devices logged into the same Apple or Samsung (or linked Alexa on Vodafone or EE) account will all ring regardless of which is dialled anyway.2 -
2 unlimited? Sounds like a cue for a song!3
