Changing link bank acc with Chip for Halifax Reward

I'm thinking of changing my chip linked account from TSB to Halifax, when my fiver period for TSB is up.
I have to upgrade my Halifax acc to a Halifax reward account first in order to get reward of a fiver. It'll mean spendin £500 though .
Has anyone changed their link account with Chip instant saver acc? When is the best time to change link to another bank? Were there any issues?
My plan is to pull £500 from Halifax Reward acc into the chip instant access by the debit card option much the same as I do for TSB x20 debit card spends, but in only one transaction of £500.
I'm aware I have to deposit £1500 into Halifax Reward acc.
I want to check, does doing the debit card transaction this way with Chip fulfil requirement for Halifax reward incentive? I would choose the £5 reward.

It absolutely does work for the rewards, I changed from Barclays to Halifax for this reason. The only way to change is to ask customer services via message as you can’t do it manually. They will take maybe a couple of hours to unlink your existing connection, then you are free to add your Halifax account and card details.EDIT: I forgot to say, withdrawing the £500 from Chip back to the Halifax account after it clears (approx 3 days) covers a third of your monthly pay-in requirements.2

It's unlikely I'll keep the £1500 in Halifax reward acc.
I don't think Halifax reward acc requires any direct debits set up, I can't remember now. I will need to read t&cs.0 -

I currently have a Halifax Reward account in which I maintain a 5k balance to gain my cinema ticket reward. This is due to expire next month so I am looking to change to the £500 debit card payment method instead. I am also looking into opening the Chip Instant saver.
Am I correct in saying that if I wanted to pay £500 by debit card into the Chip Saver from a Halifax Reward account, then that account must be linked first?
And if so then this would rule out doing the same thing from a second Halifax Reward account?

You are correct that you can only use the debit card from your one linked account. You are also not able to switch linked account without discussing with the support team.
What you can do if it's any help is use any debit card via Apple Pay at your convenience without changing linked account. I did a load of transactions in this way from my TSB account that isn't linked.2 -

I forgot to ask those of you that have changed their link account with Chip recently. Does the money you saved on your Chip instant saver stay in Chip instant saver whilst the change of link account happened or did the saved sum return to original link account before the change of link account?0
