    mariagti,

Chill out, you clearly don't recognise sarcasm when you read it.

Anyhow, you came onto the forum for advice and people will give it to you, albeit in whatever form. If you don't want the advice then please don't ask for it but don't come shouting at those who spent their time offering you suggestions to better your life to get what you want from it and to show you can do better for yourself.

Life is what you make it and you get out what you put in to it. No, you do not have to live in a council house and no, you do not have to work in a crappy low paid job, those are the CHOICES that YOU want to make. If you don't want to work harder or increase your prospects then this is YOUR choice and we were merely pointing this out to you. At the age of 24 was I working from 8-5 in a job with low pay and then going to an evening bar job because I could not afford to live on what I earned in the first job.

However, your attitude towards all of this has turned out to be a little ungrateful so I will say just this - if you do not want all of the above then only YOU can make that choice. And yes, setting your sights higher will mean working harder and setting your standards higher than 'council list' and not spending so much money on things you do not need and setting yourself a budget.

You was asking whether you should bother going on the council list and your reason for this was to be given cheap housing because you don't want to pay going market rate to let a place privately as it is 'money down the drain'. The answer then is no, get another job with more pay or another job to supplement what you earn and let the council houses stay for those that need it as they need the security. Of course, if you get really desperate you could always get pregnant!!

And welcome to the real world at the age of 24!!
