What Sim for Samsung S23 can i use my old sim card help needed

hi i wish to buy a samsung galaxy s23 ultra , i notice samsung.com has the 512gb model for £1399 while tescomobile sell that for £1601 so i will buy direct from samsung, ( i though tesco was known for good deals but im not gifting them an extra £200 )

my old crappy samsung j3 from 2017 has a failing battery and many other issues eg no space to update android etc

 but im told the tescomobile sim card from that fits the new s23..so what to do ? once ive bought and recieved the s23 do i then use tescomobile website to change the deal i am on as i will need much more data per month than i currently use maybe a 25gb per month deal ? how does this work ?

 or should i cancel the current contract and buy a new sim card from tesco with the package of data/mins/texts i want .i realise changing phone number could be a pain as lots of websites send security codes to my current number so id have the hassle of changing login info on many websites  .is that how it works ? hope ive explained this ok

    Look at flights to Poland, the S23 Ultra was about £1200 in Mediamarkt in January, the 23% VAT can be reclaimed at the border with the correct paperwork (ask directly for tax free shopping), bringing it down to under £1k (I didn't do this, someone I know did). You need form to be submitted electronically to the border guard in the shop, a paper copy of it for you to take and then make a declaration to Customs before passing to airside on the return flight.

    The SIM card is the Nano one, check if yours breaks down into a smaller one for convenience (most do).

  • Once you figure out what sort of contract you are on you can then decide if you want to stay, upgrade or move to another provider. Shouldn't be any reason to change number

    Firstly check whether the sim card does fir (all new sims can pop out to micro (old size) or nano (new size-virtually just the chip).
    If you have had the same sim since 2017 it might not snap out. If it doesn't and you want to stay with tesco you will need to ask them for a new sim when you change your package. They can send a replavement sim wirh your existing number. But check their deal against other offers;

    The talk mobile 40gb and 3 100gb deals look interesting. Porting your number from tesco is quite straightforward, and automatically cancels your existing account.

    Tesco call their one month packs "rocket packs". They autorenew like a monthly contract but there is no commitment, so if you move your number to a new network there is no exit charge (although you won't get back what you have paid for the current month).
    If you sign up to a 12 or 24 month contract you may be able to change to a different tariff if you need more/less data but providers vary as to how flexible they are. So weigh that up against any cost saving.
    Also check coverage for your area across all four networks to see if there are limitations to your coverage.
    Any sim you receive now will definitely fit your new phone.
