Flight Compensation Query

Hi All,

Hopefully a quickie,

Mrs & Daughter were on the AF1168 Flight from CDG - MAN on the 07/03/2023, It had to turnaround & land back at CDG, Due to a "Cabin Pressure Issue", Mrs was given a Flight next morning the 8th via Amsterdam, Daughter in the evening of the 8th back to MAN. Are they entitled to any compensation according to EU261??

TIA for any Guidance, Resolver Tool says Not....

It would come down to whether the event would be considered extraordinary circumstances beyond the airline's control.  Technical issues with the aircraft are not normally considered extraordinary.  However if the aircraft was deemed serviceable to commence the flight and then an issue developed once airborne necessitating a diversion the airline may consider that extraordinary.

Might be worth sticking a claim in to Air France and seeing what happens.  In any event they are entitled to accommodation and refreshments for the duration of their delay.
