Mutton_Geoff said:EU 2 pin plugs are not the same design or spacing as a "shaver" socket and you could damage the plug and/or socket trying to push one in.

But then, most shaver sockets these days will take almost any plug with 2 pins, even the American flat pin ones.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Unfortunately my shaver socket is only powered when the light is turned on. However, there is a blanking plate nearby which I think was originally for a shaver socket but the wiring behind was extended to power the strip light and socket.
Can one of these USB wall plates be fitted in a bathroom?Nannday 【𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧】 USB Wall Mounted Socket, 4 USB Interface DC 5V Home Office Electric Wall Mounted Power Socket Charger Outlet(110~250V) https://amzn.eu/d/89XofYv0 -
Have seen MK grid USB charging sockets in bathrooms. They are rated as SELV and auto switches off when nothing is plugged in so not continually delivering 5v , They also have concealed usb openings, spring loaded door which keeps steam, splashes out when not in use. Steam and splashes could short circuit and permanently damage the usb and plugged in item of tech.
Tbh,every installation will be different iwould ask an electrician to install the usb socket. There will be some safety testing before and after.

We've got Sonos speakers in the bathrooms, wall mounted, high up, just connected via a fused spur in the room behind. A bit of effort involved but as part of a future refurb it's not a big job.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Did a new build last year 20 flats with televisions above the bath tub
with ceiling speakers and the usual connected tech.
Only problem is the tv remote control doesn't work after being in the bath tub.

I'd get a speaker with Alexa built in. Either a Sonos move or a roam, if you don't want to wire them in. Turn them off when not in use.1
