Internet contract change of terms and conditions

Options
I have just been informed by my provider that the T&Cs regarding fees for cancellation of contract have been increased. Is this legal. I accepted a contract with them on certain T&Cs for 12 months surely they cannot be changed during that time.

Please can someone direct me on this.

Thanks.

  • I assume that you mean Eclipse as I have just received an email about that and came here wondering the same thing. I took out the contract knowing that I was only going to be renting the house for 9 months (but shorter contracts were too expensive). I have emailed them to ask if I can just pay the remaining 3 months (as I was expecting) or if I have to pay this higher fee.

I assume there is a get out clause for them somewhere in their contract. Anyone got any ideas?

The ISP are well within their own rights to change their T&C's. However, I'd assume there would be some kind of get out clause for customers if they didnt agree to the change in the T&C's.

Best bet is to call them to ask :)
