Alba Star airline

We've seen a TUI offer to Mallorca which would suit us - but the flights are by Alba Star.
Has anybody flown with this outfit before ?
Would appreciate any experiences please.

Haven't flown with them myself. Charter airline using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, been operating for some time now and TUI have used them in the past.1

Thanks - some years ago we flew with a charter airline Spanair, now defunct - let's just say it was different. The trolly dollys only had Spanish with very basic English.......or so it seemed, at least !!!0

I fall into the camp of one 737-800 for a short hop across Europe will be much like any other 737-800 (or Airbus A320 etc)
There is a TripAdvisor page for Albastar which it's fair to say has mixed reviews. The majority of the bad ones seem to be either a delayed flights and subsequent struggle to claim EC261 compensation, or people who'd had a short notice change and were just cheesed off they weren't on a TUI branded aircraft with TUI crew. The latter issue certainly wouldn't bother me at all but must be a priority for others.
Flown a few foreign charter airlines over the years. As it happens Spanair went on to become a major player in Spain, second largest airline in the country at the time of their collapse.0 -
I've seen those mixed reviews. We have the option to book through Jet2, so I reckon we'll bodyswerve TUI this time.0
