Did want to clarify, must I wait for a court date to start the next step, witness statement? Or can I send it off preemptively and be done with it. Unsure if I’ll be in the UK at various times for work in coming months and want it out my hair tbh

You can work on it now but your court hasn't asked for it yet so it might get lost if you send it too early.  There's no hearing file for the court staff to put in yet.

Newer WS examples are now in the NEWBIES thread that include the Chan case.

By all means use them as your base BUT the DLUHC is working in the Impact Assessment and we are expecting a Public Consultation too, which MIGHT bring useful ammo to add to parking case statements, so you must check back here before sending any WS bundle off

Finally got the letter for the hearing: Thursday 14th March.
Now to start preparing WS. I have read an exemplary one (yet to go through others), is majority of it ok to use as my own? Of course, adding to it things like pictures showing illegible signs from the parking space.
Also wanted to ask, DCBL often suspend the case usually right before the hearing, am I correct? They had called me prior to sending off my Defence whether I was interested in resolving, actually threatening that it’ll cost me a lot more to continue! Haha. Though nothing since.

    Thanks all

    Yes and yes.

    They will discontinue. No worries!

Show us your draft WS as you are now on that final furlong to your win!

As, @Coupon-mad writes, yes but do proof read and sanity check that what you lift from the exemplar WSs makes sense and backs up and supports what you wrote in your defence.

I have to say, my use of the word exemplary is not out of place or incorrect.

I will draft my witness statement tonight!

    Well, well, well!

I didn’t even have to write the WS! Thank you all, especially @Coupon-Mad and @KeithP
Yay - yet another DCB Legal discontinuance.

WELL DONE. That's a win! Congrats!
