    I've given up on ceanothus. They grow well, look lovely, then die suddenly.

    Maybe I'm doing something wrong

    No, mine did the same. When I read up on them seems they are short-lived, compared to other shrubs, and just dying is one of the features

    Perhaps try the Morrisons cheap ones :)
    I have the same problem with my Rosemary. One fine the others 2ft away die suddenly within a fortnight.
    3 so far?????? Added sand, grit etc. Scared to put another one in,

    I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

    I use the potted & growing culinary herbs from Asa, 80p in veg section. Cheap enough to try again. I start mine in a pot then out into the garden, I have one right now that is destined for DS's garden once I get over there

    @twopenny I scanned your close up photo through the picture this app and that says it’s a myrtle (I know you said that) in your post.

    If you have a smart phone then download the plantnet app, point your camera at the plant and it identifies it, there is also one for insects.

    Ah we worked it out back on page 1 I believe  :)

    But regards the deceased 3 rosemary
    , the answer popped up on gardeners world, ep 1 and it's a virus. Who knew...... so no more in that spot. Have to think of something else.
