    It used to happen, where age UK was the appointee  and then a financial deputy was appointed. I think that may have changed and the deputy does all of it. So that’s probably  a conversation you need to have with who ever they were proposing.

  • Thank you Elsien.  I am trying to see if there is a professional appointeeship service, but haven't been able to locate one as yet that has availability and would be able to help. I am not sure if this is even usual practice. Thanks for taking the time to come back to me. Much appreciated.

    The local authority will know. They are the ones who commission the service for people who don’t have family willing or able to take on the role. It’s not an unusual thing to be in place.
    If you feel being the appointees is not right for your son, then let the local authority make the relevant arrangements.
