  • Probably a better idea just to tell them what the law is so they know that you know what you are talking about.  Consumer Rights Act 2015 (legislation.gov.uk)

Basically, s19(14) says that any fault that appears in the first 6 months must be taken to have been present at purchase.

s24(5)(a) says that the retailer is allowed only one attempt at either repair or replacement, and if that fails you are entitled to a refund.  You can tell Currys that they delegated their one attempt at repair to Indesit when they referred you to Indesit in the first place.

s24(10) says you are entitled to a full refund if all this happens within 6 months of you taking delivery of the appliance.

So you can argue with currys that the law says you are entitled to a full refund.

(If you'd prefer a replacement, I suppose you could try to negotiate that with them, but if I were you I think I'd want the refund and buy from new - thus avoiding any potential problems if the repalcement fails after the original 6 months.  But if you do opt for a replacement, I suggest you make clear to them that you are reserving your statutory right to a full refund if the replacement fails)

Do you know for certain that the problem is with the oven and not the electrical circuit it is connected to?
