  • I have some serious calculations and thoughts to do now guys, I wish I was 20 30 years younger and it would be a no brainer, I would get a new system fitted tommorrow. I can only guestimate an extra £100-150 per radiator in addition to the boiler costs. Then it's who would I trust to carry out the work if I decide to go ahead. thanks to all contributors.

You have a system boiler, so there will be some pipework that will need replacing or modifying. How much will depend on where the boiler & HW tank are currently located and where the new (combi ?) boiler is located. At a minimum, the gas pipe will need to be upgraded from 15mm to 22mm or even 28mm.

Oh, and I doubt very much that you will get a boiler installation for under £2.8K unless it is a cheap model. I'm getting quotes of £3.6K to £4.5K, and that is with me doing most of the plumbing work.
