It's so lovely to have some early morning light again.Yesterday was quiet and peaceful. I cooked up some food, cooled it and found space in the freezer. I semi-packed and got things ready. This morning I'll do a quick tidy up, not much is needed, as my cleaner will be coming in whilst I'm away.Tonight I'll be staying in a Premier Inn as I don't want to drive for six or seven hours in one stretch, those days are long gone. I'm excited to see my nephew and his family again so it'll be worth it.I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Sunday to all, and happy Mothering Sunday to all mothers and grandmothers here. You do a fantastic job. I miss mine terribly.9

Morning All
Safe travels Gers. I think Mothering Sunday is 19th March.
I've been awake since 5am, couldn't get back to sleep so lay reading for an hour or so. It was good to get up to daylight for a change.
Nice afternoon yesterday at DDs with a good catch up with friends although I left them talking about the wedding for a while and played with the little one. Came back to dry washing on the line, just needed a quick airing and has all been put away.
So close to your target Coxy, keep going, you can do it!
Hope you're feeling ok Muddy Walker.
I need to go and buy some birthday cards this morning, apart from that there are no plans. The pool is closed today so will catch up with some housework.
Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX

Weather here is dull but no frost.
Hope you all have a good Sunday.9 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers - hope you have an uneventful journey, and enjoy seeing your family. We had another quiet day yesterday, and I don't think we have anything planned for today. We must be the most boring people out!Coxy, you've been busy around the house, I should follow your example. The mirror doors on our wardrobe need cleaning, I'll get Dh on to it.It's dull and cold here, and the forecast is not wonderful, we really should get out for a walk though. Might brace ourselves and go out today.DP1, hope you're feeling better, I think I read a day or two ago that you didn't feel well.Glad you enjoyed your lunch out TA, there's nothing like a good chat with friends.Good to see you back Muddy, hope you're ok.Izzy, enjoy your holiday, you deserve a nice break.Taff, sorry to read you'd had stomach pains, hope they've eased off.Thinking of our poorly people, take care folks.11

Safe travels Gers. I think Mothering Sunday is 19th March.Oops! Sorry. Think it was because I saw all the cards in the sm the other day.And it's 'normally' been very close to my late DM's birthday on 09 March. She always told me not to buy flowers until after her birthday as the price was so escalated.
Thanks Camelot - and apologies to those who may have been a bit panicked by it.11 -
Morning all, thanks for starting us off @Gers and safe travels x
We are off to see DD in Brighton today and will have a pub lunch. I need to make sure I'm as good as I can be - don't want another pesky gain at FC next week! DS2 going back to uni this evening on the train, so normal service will resume in terms of 'stuff' being left in communal areas (shoes in the hall, headphones/water bottles on the worktop etc.) He's back again on 1 April for DH's birthday celebrations.
All ironing was done last night - after I ironed each item I went upstairs to put away - just to get some more steps in. Extreme but needed!
Hope you all have a lovely day.

Morning all, decided to walk up to the park with pooch, there was a very light smattering of snow/hail/frost ? on the ground. Not been up there with her for ages but she wasn't happy, too many other dogs off the lead so we came back and went across the road as usual. However I hope we brightened an old lady's morning, she always used to wave to us from her bedroom window, I looked up and the curtains were shut but on the way back there she was . She is profoundly deaf and lives alone since her DH passed a couple of years agoNo football for DGD today so we have a free day. I doubt we'll be doing much, I think DH will be scouring the internet for a replacement van, most of them seem to be miles away. The insurance payout is now in the bank!Steak tonight, and I'm going to get the last of the mince pies out of the freezer for after. Last night we had a box of M/s Thai curries from my O cado order, I cooked a bit extra chicken to make it stretch for the 3 of us, all enjoyed.Gers, I bet you made a few people panic then with your mistaken Mothering Sunday dateMuddywalker, hope you feel better soon after your treatment. Don't worry about the post content- some of mine are very mundane so I do know what you mean.Time for another cuppa, DH made the 1st ones so it's my turn now. Have a good day all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11

Morning folks and thanks for kicking off GERS. Have a safe drive up and down and have a lovely few days with your family.
It's all calm and still out there but the forecast is still dire for the coming week. Blooming snow causing more disruption.
DS came as promised yesterday to dismantle the tap and clean the filters. While they were "fizzing" in the bicarb and vinegar I tagged along with him when he went down to do a bit of food shopping. I was very good and stuck to my guns of no buying for the freezers! But I did come home with a few tins for my stores.
No plans for today so it will probably be the usual Slothful Sunday. I have just prepped the veg for my lunch and that may be the extent of my exertions for today.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or MIA. MUDDY WALKER I hope you are having a comfortable w/e after your treatment. NELS I hope those poorly hands are soon feeling better. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning everyone
Nice and sunny here this morning. Little one came for a play yesterday, bless her she's on a lot of medication for her tummy which is still very sore. I took her out for a ride on her bike and later on sat out the back with her while she played with her sand - it was nice in the sunshine. She kept saying 'we haven't done this for ages have we?' Trixie cat was bouncing round the garden, she enjoyed the company too. She tucked into spaghetti bolognese for tea, then had a bath before DD picked her up.
This morning I'm going down to mam and dads for a cuppa and to do his jobs. DD is going to drop little one off there and go for her shopping. Then I'm planning a quiet afternoon with my Sunday Times.
Scarletribbons - yes I'm having a bad time with Long Covid just now. After Christmas I felt a bit better, but worse again now. I'm very tired, bad headaches. achy...generally falling to bits! Thanks for asking - doctor just says I'll be better 'one day!'
Coxy - enjoy your trip to Brighton. It's somewhere I've always fancied visiting but never been. Eldest DD visited a friend there last year and loved it.
I'd better get dressed if I'm going out! Hope everyone has a nice day x12 -
Morning all. Still very cold here in Kent but it looks like we'll avoid the snow this week! Won't be in work for a few days next week as I am having a cataract op done tomorrow. Any positive comments from people who have had it done will be very welcome as I'm a bit nervous about it all. Thai curry for dinner and then settling down for a regular sporty Sunday afternoon.Safe journey @Gers. Sorry to hear you're still suffering long covid @dp1, it must be so frustrating for you.Hugs to everyone x11
