Air NZ payment

Hi all, Trying to book flights to NZ through Air NZ. (£7.5k) I want to put some of it on cc for protection with the majority on dd. The site only gives the option to pay on one card. My cc limit is nowhere near enough, and to pay over the phone is £2k more! I've tried to up my cc limit but that still wasn't high enough to cover the total cost. Do I take the risk and keep it all on debit, or is there another option? Thanks in advance for an suggestions.

Can you put through a prior payment to your credit card for the amount you are over your limit then pay by credit card?0

I asked the bank and they said no - it would throw up alerts0

How many passengers? Is your CC limit enough for one person?
If so, then buy the flights one at a time. Immediately after each purchase pay off your credit card account so you can buy the next ticket.0 -
2 adults, 2 children. Cc limit is 1900. Sounds like I’d have to do an interview to get it to 3500, which wouldn’t be enough to cover 1 adult, 1 child.0

The protection available via chargeback (accessible to debit card payments as well as credit cards) isn't massively dissimilar to the section 75 cover to be honest, so paying by debit card isn't really a huge risk in the way it's sometimes painted:
