Help to buy isa bonus

Hi,
I wonder if someone could help me. I currently have a help to buy isa with a balance higher then the £12,000 on which you can claim the government bonus. The interest rate on this amount is rubbish and I was looking at moving the excess over £12,000 to another savings account. Will this affect my government bonus when I eventually buy a house?
Thanks in advance
Michy.

No, withdrawals to leave a balance of £12K won't affect the bonus.

Re 'eventually' buying, if you transfer to a Lifetime ISA you could earn a bonus on more than £12K, but if you're buying before mid 2025 then it probably won't be worth it....
