Glad this has been sorted out and hopefully the OP can now move on.
Don't mistake your own feelings, whatever they may be, for my entitlement. The fact that I am a high earner (which I guess is what you find entitled about the title?) was additional context that I thought appropriate to include, given it is mentioned in published articles as a contributor to the likelihood of having ones account frozen. It's not something that I'm proud of (I consider myself extremely lucky, not exceptional), nor that I would ordinarily mention unless it is highly relevant or necessary.
Anyone, rich or poor, should feel entitled to the money they have earned and entrusted to a bank.
Yes, I have somewhat embellished the title. I was actually only left penniless for 24 hours, as I had money on my Monzo account, and Monzo were able to send me a new card the next day (my previous card had expired a few years ago).MattMattMattUK said:
You will not get any compensation, the bank did what they are required to do undet legislation and their banking license. You taking a day and a half off was your choice and it makes no difference to the outcome so was pointless.
I would hardly describe AML, anti-fraud and other checks as disgraceful, sometimes these things happen, it was resolved in less than a week, your reaction seems to be hugely disproportionate.
I have now been given compensation a "good will" gesture, along with an inadequate apology. Being falsely treated like a criminal is extremely distressing; I feel like my mental health has taken a real battering. I've probably been a little more obnoxious than usual, and I apologise for this; however, I cannot understate just how distressing the past week has been.

This forum is renowned for treating each person equally, rich or poor, young or old, (dare I say) ignorant or highly knowledgeable, woe betide a contributor who fails the forums' basic rules of respect.ent_moot said:trient said:Off-topic, but I am genuinely impressed with the level of community support to this story, given the sense of entitlement that was displayed from beginning (title included) to end.

I think in this thread by and large people have played the ball rather than the man and have benefited from the discourse.
