Hi,
pretty much summed up in my the discussion title.
pretty much summed up in my the discussion title.
I’m trying to set up 2 direct debits for my new Barclays current account so I can benefit from the blue rewards, one of my direct debits is PayPal but from what I understand it wants me to print sign and post a declaration form off?
Is this right?
Thanks

I've signed up for numerous DDs in the last few years, not once have I had to physically print, sign and send off.1

I’m trying to use PayPal as my direct debit, some clever people on here have worked out that Barclays only require 2 payments via direct debit ie they can come from same company (PayPal) I’ve set the bank account up in PayPal and have set two regular payments to go out through PayPal but direct debit money from my linked bank account. It says that direct debit has been accepted but when I click on “more information” it brings up a form which says print of, sign and send to somewhere in London. So just to be sure anyone on here done PayPal direct debit without having to sign the form?Thanks0

My wife and I have both set up Paypal direct debits without having to sign a form. It would be bizarre for anyone to need a paper form in this day and age, but in a partcular an electronic payments company.

I have a PP DD in my Barclays account. Set it up recently for the same reason - Blue Rewards - without any paper forms IIRC.Where do you see that PP wants you "to print sign and post a declaration form off"?

Where do you see that PP wants you "to print sign and post a declaration form off"?As an aside, when I look on my Barclays account that I’ve linked with PayPal it says “no direct debits set up”
thanks for any help0 -

And Barclays won't have any record of the DD for several days after you've set it up with PayPal - DD set-up isn't instant.
PayPal's systems allow you to use a new DD apparently 'instantly'. But actually the debit from your account will be some days later as the bank need to be informed and the process set-up first. Wait a week before deciding Barclays know nothing about it!2 -

The DD can appear only when PP want to take the money you owe them. And if the amount is small, this can take weeks, not days.0 -

OP wants it for blue rewards, so is going to use it asap, not wait for weeks.
Not sure the actual amount changes anything. How can it?0 -

How can it?I added Barclays as a linked account at PP and transferred £5 to my wife. It then took PP weeks to take this fiver from Barclays.0 -

thanks for any helpDD on PayPal does not work on online Banking. Install their apps and link your Bank Accounts. The good things with PP, You could link several Bank AC so you could manually debit a few different banks which require DDs. I also do not like to install Apps but I have to do with PP to benefit from DDs.You are right there are still some banks and Building society require you to send the paper copy in this day and age. Some are even still ask you the Home Landline, on the online form. When you try to enter your other Mobile Phone using the landline it does not work due to format requirement.0
