Bloody Samsung TV plus

Had my Samsung 55" TV for 5 years or so and no problems but in the last few days the Samsung TV plus app has taken over to the extent that it wont let me watch other stuff for long.
If i am watching Youtube or downloaded videos off a USB stick which is all i use the TV for, it will exit those things and start Samsung TV plus and some program i don't want on.
I have uninstalled the app many times and it just re-installs itself and once it starts you cant exit it you have to go to the home button and restart what you were doing.
Any one else having this trouble?

    Hi

Most tv's have a factory reset, have you triedn that? However, you will lose all of your settings/etc/content etc

    Good luck

    I followed that article!

All that happened was the TV came on to a black screen instead of the samsung plus.

Then every time it retuned overnight, the whole lot came back.

I gave up and accepted that you have to tune back to live TV every time you turn the set on.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

You could try Samsung tech support. But unless you got it from somewhere like Richer Sounds, with a 6 year warranty, they may not offer much help, as it may be out of warranty now. Nothing to lose by trying though.

This an update/software issue not a fault.
They seem to want to really push the Samsung TV plus on to everyone regardless of whether they want it.

Also i haven't had a TV licence for over 5 years and don't watch any live broadcast programming.
  • The easiest solution may be to disconnect your tele from the internet and then plug a roku stick into it and use that.

OP didn't say that a reset had solved his problem...

I have not done a factory reset and the problem continues, samsung tv plus starts up without me asking for it and sometimes closes down youtube and my usb sticks which is how i normally watch tv.
