FTP woes

Hi, needing a bit of help if anyone on here has FTP knowledge. I've googled myself into a stupor!
I have a couple of basic charity websites I keep updated every year. Suddenly I can't get FileZilla to connect to my server (Falcoda). I never had any issues over the past umpteen years, but try as I might, I cannot get anything to work for the past 2 days. I'm not locked out, so I guess it's something my end - perhaps the Windows 11 update? Or my newest Antivirus prog - Macafee? Whatever I try it just hangs and won't connect using the old settings - or even using the wizard.
Things I've tried - switching off the firewall on Macafee but also allowing FileZilla permission. (Windows defender firewall is disabled via Macafee) My router firewall switched off.
I can get so far with the wizard, then it hangs with the following:
Response: 150 opening data connection
Response: 503 Failure of data connection.
Server sent unexpected reply.
Connection closed
Response: 503 Failure of data connection.
Server sent unexpected reply.
Connection closed
I'm at my wits end.

Thanks, I've given it a try and I'm still not able to connect. Looking at all the FAQs isn't helping me at all. Too many variables and they're all over my head!

Contact the hosting provider for assistance.Alternativey: set up Filezilla on another computer or laptop. If it works on that the problem is with your first computer. If it doesn't work then take it to another network connection. If it works there (public Wif-Fi at McDonalds or whatever) the issue is with your connection at home.1

I had a similar problem with a different provider. Any FTP connection would fail. Their tech support fixed it by adding my IP address to the server's whitelist.
Fortunately my IP address(with Virgin) although dynamic, doesn't even change once a year, unless the modem/router is disconnected for a period of time.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Is the FTP server connection in FileZilla set to Active or Passive (Transfer settings of the connection)?
Also are you using the latest version of Filezilla?

I use Windows File Explorer to drop files onto my FTP site. In the address bar type the address (ftp://mydomain.co.uk) and wait for the login prompt, then it opens as a new window into which you can copy & paste away to your heart's content.1

Hi, Yes that's the way I always start off, before firing up FileZilla. I'm just coming back to this as I sickened myself wasting hours on it before. Will be giving an old laptop a try next.

I've tried both ways - settings which I never had to bother with before. Nothing works. And it is the latest version.

And FTP is unlocked, before you ask.Money can't buy you happiness, but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery.
