Flights on credit card

Hi all, I can't seem to find an answer to this and hoping you can help! I thought it might be a simple question, but I can't get the right information to help me!

My partner and I have just booked a huge trip to Canada in the summer. We've put all the flights (including internal Canadian ones) on the credit card. If we pay the credit card off now and something terrible happens (like the airline collapses) are we still entitled to our money back seeing as we've already paid off the card?

Yes. Section 75 protection applies because credit has been provided. It doesn't matter when the debt is paid off, its the fact that credit was provided in the first place that counts.

i *believe* it is if you have paid for an item on a credit card rather than whether or not any of the amount is still outstanding. However, I'm no expert and wouldn't wish to tell you wrong. You'd probably get better advice on the credit card board. I'd message the board guide on here to ask them to0 move this thread for you.

Did you book directly with the airlines?  Using agents usually negates s75 protection, although chargeback may still be available in such circumstances....

Thank you all! We have booked directly with airlines as my partner is a stickler for not booking with agents!
