Coronas Playa, Lanzarote was a favourite. Biggest standard rooms I've ever seen!!
Wow. That does look lovely.
However...NOT a fan of an open plan bathroom and toilet!!!
What is it with this obsession with open plan?
A loo should have a door!!!How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
We had a very nice stay at the Coronas Playa and were booked to return when the pandemic struck.Sea_Shell said:Always liked a 'Gold' hotel. Been to a few over the years.
We were a bit young for their main demographic, but having no kids ourselves, put us firmly back in!!
Never really watched the entertainment, TBH.

Anyone else remember Naty?
i wasn’t a great fan of Costa Teguise but the hotel made up for that. I much prefer Playa Blanca.
i think you mean Naty who was the meet and greet lady in the restaurant. She was efficient but personally I don’t like being hugged by strangers!
i will check out the Radisson Blu though. Thanks for the heads up.1 -

Yeah, that's Naty!! After 6 visits, we got used to her hugs 😉
Agree that Playa B is the nicer resort. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
The US Ambassador to Spain had a holiday residence down the main drag from the Coronas Playa - and there was a Spanish Royal Family retreat close by as well - for when they became bored with their pad in the Balearics. They would be All Inclusive presumably !!!

If it's the one I think it is, we walked out to it several times. Can't remember how we knew or who told us. But we always referred to it as the King of Spain's house. It had a helipad IIRC.How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0
