Meals sound great and good prices too.
It's working out well with you being close to PD's food and being able to deliver when doing visits.
    Hope your appointment went well.

Am out to the local pub with friends over the bank holiday so have taken out £20 cash plus £10 to pay for a lovely mat by my door.

V Media refund received in my account £16. After making a complaint they said they would send me a cheque for £30. Not sure what’s going on there.

    Bank balance = £370.16

    Petrol £140
    food  £113.79
    (£150 - £3.99 - £29.72 - £2.60)
    Remaining £116.91

Today I am going to sand down a small painted side table I brought with me and give it a coat of paint to match the living room.

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend everyone

Thanks MF  @[Deleted User] and @doingitanyway

The village has just over 2000 residents, a GP surgery & chemist, 3 pubs and a working man’s club, a village hall and Church. The post office and corner shop closed a few years ago. The only other shop is a hairdressers. It just means I have to be a bit more organised as I can’t walk to a corner shop for milk etc.

I am now visiting darn sarf. Puppy dog was so pleased to see me that her whole body was wagging 😆 The weather has been “interesting” with gales, torrential rain, hail and a few sunny spells. I’m just waiting for the rain to stop/slow down to take the dog for a walk.

I’ve seen a few friends so far and it’s been lovely to catch up. A few more meet ups are organised over the next few days and I’ve booked a trip to the tip to get rid of some stuff for DS and his gf. I will do a round up of spending after I go back.

Things have moved on at home while I’ve been here. Luckily DF has been looking after things for me. Apparently the roofer has been and the neighbour has chopped down the large overgrown tree in the garden for me. Just waiting on the bathroom now. Probably too much to hope that it will be done before I get home!

Sounds idyllic although a shame about no local shop for staple items.

Your home is coming along in leaps and bounds, the bathroom will also be done before you know it.

Enjoy your holiday and catching up 🤗

Hellooooo MF!!!! What a wonderful new diary, there is just something so right about this. I am sooooooo pleased for you. Your new life is wonderful. I cant believe you have done so much already. You can feel the horrid work stress is gone. Hurrah for retirement and escape. This is so inspirational. I hope you are having a good day.
Aiming for a minimal spend 2022
  • Had a fantastic time away catching up with friends and family. Lots of puppy dog snuggles and dog walks 🐶

Home again and the roofer has been and done a great job. Paid him £2750 and paid neighbour for chopping down and removing the tree £300. Popped round to my old school friend for a cuppa and a catch up.

£79.34 left in the bank for the rest of the month. I should only need to buy food & cheap lunch out with DF today. Next weekend I am out to a friends house for lunch and have a bottle of wine gifted to me which I will take with me. Coronation weekend I am invited to a bbq so I hope the weather stays nice. I will need to get some chicken and I have another gifted bottle of wine in the cupboard to take with me.

Still waiting for the bathroom to be done later next month. Then that will be all the big spends jobs done. In the meantime there are lots of little jobs and decorating to be done for which I already have paint etc.

I can't believe the difference in you over the last few months. So much more relaxed, tons happier and achieving loads quickly.

Just under £80 should be sufficient as you meal plan easily.

    Enjoy the lunches/ gatherings.
