Interest of £30.05 has been paid to the ISA today so there's now £8612.07 in the EF, soon to be renamed the 'saving-to-pay-the-mortgage-off' pot. The money will always be there as an emergency fund if needed but the main goal will be to keep saving to pay down the mortgage.
I've re-jigged my little office space at home this morning in between jobs. I'm really trying to make it work better for me but it's also the tiny box room where all other stuff gets put as we have VERY limited storage in this house. I've 'shopped from home' and relocated a lamp that was in here to the lounge and moved the anglepoise lamp that wasn't really used downstairs up to my office. I can now see what I'm doing at my desk when it's dark and dim outside!I really need to redecorate in here as the colour of the walls is v dull and depressing. I have some wallpaper to put up on one or two walls but need to paint first and just haven't got round to it. I'm going to check what tins of paint I have later and see if I can make use of one of those. It's a teeny tiny room and I'm not doing all the walls so I won't even need a whole 2.5L tin.

I forgot to mention, one of the vinted items sold late last night so that's £15 coming my way and one more item cleared from my wardrobe.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,956.86

The second vinted item also sold tonight, so that's another £15 made. They couldn't be both dispatched from the same parcel shop though, that would be too easy! They're both packaged and will be dropped off at the two different locatons tomorrow. The £30 will go towards the credit card balance when the funds eventually hit my account. I'll see what else I can dig out to sell...I'm tempted to get rid of the dry robe which I've only ever used once. It was bought for after swimming but i don't go anymore and it's just too big and bulky for me. I wonder if i'd get decent money for it though.
I found two tins of paint I could use in the box room. One white and one egyptian cotton, but the latter was bought to go over some areas that need redoing in my hallway and on the landing. I have found half a tin of the blue I have on one wall elsewhere which I am now considering using in my downstairs loo. I installed wall type panelling in there when I moved in as the walls were in such bad shape, but I'm not keen on it anymore. If I remove it the walls underneath will need a major re-plastering job which I'm not forking out for, but I think I may be able to paint over it and even wallpaper over it too. If so, I would like to paint the bottom half the nice blue colour and paper the top with the wallpaper I'd originally bought for the box room as it will look better in there and I've decided it's too busy for the office walls. I've slapped a bit of paint on the panels this evening as a tester so will see how it dries tomorrow. It'll be nice to make some changes, everything was done quite quickly after moving in to get the place half decent and it's not necessarily the choices i would have made given more time and money. Now i just need to think what to do with the box room office without spending too much.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,956.86

I couldn't get to sleep last night, my brain wouldn't switch off. I was thinking about the mortgage and savings and I just couldn't drop off, so am feeling tired today and about to make my first coffee of the day.
One of the vinted orders, an ebay item of DS's that sold last night and a card for my parents was all posted this morning on the way back from the school run. Just the other vinted parcel to post later today and some items to return to a shop for a £50ish refund to the CC. I've also had notification that a parcel I returned has been received, so that's about £32 back to the CC too.
I had one survey to do this morning which paid 100 points, equivalent to £1. Hopefully I can build those up to a voucher or something over a space of time.
It's jab day today, so am going to have some breakfast and then inject the 2nd dose of Mounjaro. The scales tell me I've lost 6.4lbs this first week.I'm not expecting losses like that every week, but it is just nice to be feeling more in control of my eating and learning to eat when I'm hungry rather than when I'm bored/sad/fed up etc.

Your doing very well on the Moujaro although I wouldn’t be able to inject myself. You planning on seeing your parents at half term and have a few days back home? Take care x2025 Decluttering 10472⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you Mrs_Money_Penny xx I have to build myself up to injecting even though I know it doesn't hurt and the needle is tiny, it's just the thought of it. I had to self inject blood thinners every day for 6 weeks after DS was born and that was far worse, so I don't know why I still falter when it comes to doing it!
Yes, DS and I are going to spend three or four days with my Mum and Dad. I can't wait to see them as we haven't seen them since the third week of August. OH and I are then going to go back to stay with them a couple of weekends later as DS is busy with his Dad all weekend. I guess after that it'll be Christmas time when we see them again.Mortgage @ 03/2019: £125,000, Now: £51,956.86

I have been on Mounjaro since April, with a break in May. I find that some days I am hungrier than others, just like I would be normally, though on hungry days, they are nothing like pre injection hungry days! I have been taking longer on each dose before going up, spent three months on 2.5mg, two months on 5mg and am on my second month on 7.5mg, I find that at the moment, it is helping me eat less, but not causing me to have no hunger, so I am still fueling my body. Regularly losing 1lb a week, so slow but steady and not something I can manage alone. I am also more active than ever before, which is very new to me!
I think your plan of 10% to the mortgage makes a lot of sense, mortgages are so unpredictable right now. Though, I am hoping that when we have to change next year, it is looking like they are offering 3.9% which is a whole percent less than last year!
Keep up the great work!2 -
Well done on your progress Aimingforthegoodlife, it sounds like it's really working well for you. I'm really glad you posted as it's reassured me a bit as I haven't really felt like the Mounjaro is working this week. I have been hungry a lot and eating much more than I did last week. I'm still trying to make good choices and am drinking my 3L of water a day and keeping up my gym classes., but I have eaten much more than last week. I haven't lost any weight this week yet but I'm not too fussed about that as the huge loss last week worried me a bit, I felt like it was too much weight to healthily lose in one week. I think I have had a few more side effects this week - a bit of reflux/indigestion type issue and some dizziness/lightheaded feelings at times. I keep reminding myself it's early days.
Thank you for your take on the mortgage too, I'm glad most people are in agreeance. It's difficult to know what to do for the best sometimes with the savings vs mortgage overpayments despite the interest rate rule.
