    Thank you Aimingforthegoodlife. :)

I posted one of the vinted parcels this afternoon and paid £25 in to the bank - £20 of it was DS’s so has gone to his account, the odd fiver in my purse has been sent to my account. I tried to transfer it into my ISA which is now my EF but it says I’m not able to transfer such a low amount into the ISA. Anyone know what the minimum deposit is? I’ve googled but can’t find it. It’s gone into the gifts account instead.
I’ve got to wrap one more vinted parcel and then post them both tomorrow. They have to go to a different parcelshop than today - one that’s a nightmare to park near around school times - so I’ll probably pop down at lunchtime.

I posted the two other vinted parcels last night so hopefully funds should start appearing soon. I've had notification that the ziffit payment of just over £10 is on the way too.
Today I need to take a jumper back to &sda that I bought for myself yesterday. It was £18 which I can't really justify spending on myself at the moment and it also makes me look like a sack of potatoes so I don't feel sad about returning it!
I filled the car up with petrol yesterday (£54) which was budgeted for, but there is only around £70 left for everything else for the rest of the week now, so I need to not spend any money this weekend other than on the few bits we'll need before payday. DS has to take cooking ingredients into school this week but thankfully it's all items we have in already.

The child benefit should be paid this coming week but the early payment at Christmas has confused me so I'm not sure when that will be, hopefully on Monday.

I'm afraid my heating is staying on low all day today as it did for most of yesterday. It's -6 here at the moment and it's just too cold WFH otherwise no matter how many layers I put on. I have a chesty cough/cold at the moment too so am not feeling great and just want to be warm.  I'll worry about the cost later.

  • Love the colour charts to track your mortgage and savings. I have a couple on the go for the last debts which seem to be taking so long. Always motivating though to colour a square off.

Great chart for the mortgage and savings.  Minimum deposits on ISAS would depend on T and Cs of account although I have to say I have never had an issue paying small amounts in although I do not have a Cash ISA anymore so maybe that has changed.

    Thankyou HSL2 & enthusiasticsaver xx

I’m still feeling rough with this cold/cough which is tiring day and night but am hoping it goes away soon. I haven’t had much sleep the past couple of nights because of it and am feeling the aches and toredness now. Hopefully DS will be happy with a lazy day in today.

Yesterday I had the gas boiler serviced (£80) and, as I suspected, there is an issue with the boiler. Hopefully it won’t cost too much, am waiting on a price next week. He also didn’t fix the leaky radiator as he’s going to have to drain the system down for it which he’ll do when the boiler is repaired. I’ve also asked for a quote on a bigger radiator in DS’s room,
I also had a window guy around yesterday to measure up and advise about window replacement. Again, am waiting on a price for that to see if it’s anywhere near achievable.

    Thank you foxandflowers xx

I’m still ill and on antibiotics now but they don’t seem to be doing much yet. I’m not getting more than a couple of hours max of sleep at night times atm so am permanently exhausted. A few nights this week I’ve had absolutely no sleep, it’s not been much fun. I’m not well enough to go to my SW group this week which I’ll miss as I have a laugh with a few of the ladies I’ve met there and I’m also missing a night out with friends tomorrow which I’m gutted about as they’re few and far between these days. :(
DS is with his Dad tonight, OH has enrolled himself on something else to do on one of the two evenings we spend together each week and has only just told me half an hour ago, so I’m feeling ill, fed up, lonely and ‘low on the list’ tonight. Oh well, I’m used to it.

Payday has arrived and so I’ve shuffled £150 each to both the car/house pot and the gifts pot. £25 has gone to DS’s school pot, £35 to his school dinner money as he still has quite a bit left on the account this month, I’ve paid any outstanding balance on the credit card and I’ve sent £250 to the EF. There’s now £5650 in there, hopefully I can make it up to the £6k mark next month.

I haven’t had any quotes from anyone yet and the radiator and boiler are still waiting to be fixed. I shall phone that company tomorrow, not overly impressed they haven’t got back to me after a week. No news from the window company and i’ve cancelled the appointment about renewing the utility room, I’ll live with it for a while longer and save my money.

A couple more things have sold on vinted and I’ve sent them off already so £18 will be hitting the account from those shortly. Now to make the ££’s last longer this month, hopefully.

  • I'm sorry you are still so poorly, and I am sorry you are feeling lonely and bottom of the list, that's a horrid feeling. It isn't the same, but there are plenty of us on here cheering you on and supporting you, if that helps at all xx

I have been looking at vinted, is it worth the effort of putting things on and then sending them off? Bought a couple of tops and it seemed very efficient! You are making good progress selling things, it is so impressive!

Everything crossed the quotes are better than you are thinking x
  • so sorry to hear you are still so poorly and fed up. It is annoying having to pay for tradesmen and all the hassle getting them to come out in the first place. Hope you feel better soon. xx

Thank you Aimingforthegoodlife, I am so grateful for online cheerleading and support, it does mean a lot that people will take time out of their day to chivvy on a stranger!  <3

As for vinted, I would definitely recommend giving it a go. The good thing about it is that you pay no fees as a seller and the upload process is much more simple than ebay. I would say you don't always get the highest price for things on there and you do tend to get a lot of people trying to make offers, but you can always decline those and everything seems to sell eventually. Postage is also easy, you just download the postage labels which are paid for by the buyer and either print it off and take to a shop, or download a QR code if the shop has an in-house label printing service. One thing I would say is to specify which courier companies you're willing to send with in your account settings. I didn't realise you could do this originally and sold something which had to be sent from a parcel shop which I struggled to get to. The Evri and Yodel ones are near me and are relatively convenient so I will only post with them. Hope that helps! xx
