My £200 Alternative Fuel Payment has gone into my So Energy account, (I’m now £886.22 in credit)  I’ve emailed them and asked them to transfer the £200 AFP into my bank account so that I can use it to buy heating oil.. has anyone with So Energy done the same? and if so what was the outcome?

    Hi
yes I am in pretty much the same predicament. Input meter reading twice a month but no statements since Early January. Apparently all because account under review….taken two months.

Anyway requested the £200 oil money today, said other companies doing it, came back with questions of whether I used electric for any heating purpose ( no, all oil and woodburner) and have been promised the £200 will be refunded in the next few days. So I will take that as a potential positive. But remain unhappy with no statements for two months….especially when we are all trying to monitor our energy use closely….goodness knows what uncertainty it is creating for those struggling /in arrears etc.

Update from message above…..So energy have done what they promised and the £200 for non gas grid users has been transferred into my current account from my in credit electric account . Completed within a few days of a phone conversation, so an uptick from me.
  • We are in credit (c£300) with So Energy mostly due to the Off Grid payment. I have been trying to get this credited back to our account without success. We started this on 30th October

    Actions so far:

    1. Called (30 minute wait). Cut off during conversation with handler and no return call
    2. Tried to email but system not working
    3. Put review on TrustPilot. Threat to remove post after an hour or so if full details not supplied - seem to awake there!
    4. Details supplied - told they would be touch - no contact
    5. Wrote to Mr Oscroft (co founder) - response from Exec Complaints saying they would be in touch - nothing after a week
    6. Written to CEO - no response

They are either deliberately holding onto our money or utterly incompetent
