For putting up a small stud wall that seems very expensive. All the work they are doing is very straightforward, and as the wall will be so small, isn't going to use much materials or time either. The electrical work there is a few hours work at most and less than £50 in materials.
I'm not sure how they are planning to drag the job out to 5/6 days? The only things there that take time are the plaster and paint drying !

Unless I'm reading it wrong, install more than 1 double USB plug socket. You always need more than you think, especially for the yoof0

I'm still struggling to see how you will have enough space if you split that room, and light. By the time you've added doors and an entrance way surely the rooms will be really small? Sorry to sound a negative nelly, just wouldn't want you to spend money on something that really doesn't work.£2699 credit card (£3848 01.02.23)
£1023 Ski fund (cash back, interest, ebay sales only). Used in April 23

Thank you all for your feedback. I’m definitely going to get a few quotes.
I am also going to look into the idea of sliding doors to split the room. It will cost less and take up less space.2 -

Could I suggest that you produce a mock up of this before you start. Some large cardboard boxes, cut up and taped together, then propped up against the furniture.Just so you get a feel for the spaces you will be creating. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?5

To be honest it I was in this situation I'd give the kids the rooms, and have the kitchen/sitting room to myself. No extra walls, just a quality comfortable sofa-bed and few house rules to account for the situation. No smelly food could be one of them
Gas: warm air central heating, instant water heater, Octopus tracker
Electricity: 3kw south facing solar array, EV, Octopus intelligent4
