That then dramatically lowers the cost of the tablet which brings it easily into the range of the Amazon Fire tablets which are very good value for money. Tethering is really easy now, on both Android and iOS it is one swipe and one press so she does not need any tech skills to be able to use it once set up and the initial setup only involves putting a password in or scanning a QR code.

    She will be paying slightly more on her mobile contract but that will be cheaper than a second contract and the tablet will be cheaper as well so the total TCO will be quite a bit lower, both upfront and on an ongoing basis.

    Perhaps a pay as you go with monthly bundles, so she won't get a big bill if she goes over her data allowances.
