I’ve noticed that Barclays have a good rate on their cash isa , which also permits some flexibility in terms of access if required.

I have approx 40k in savings in an ordinary savings account. If I transfer £20k for current tax year 22/23 can I still transfer the other £20k in April for tax year 23/24 and earn 4% on the full amount at the end of the tax year in 2024?

If you open the account now then it will have matured before the end of the 2023/24 tax year, so you wouldn't literally receive £1600 then, but you'd receive 4% pro rata on every day's balance during the term.

As I'm waiting for another ISA to transfer over into one of these Barclays ISAs, I figured I'd read the bumpf ref your question... It sounds like you can...
"Deposits up to the annual ISA subscription limit each tax year, may be made throughout the term of the Flexible Cash ISA."

I'm going to see what else comes on the market by then, as the Bank of England meet again, towards the end of March.
