how to fix that or just switch on isolator when need bathroomsummer_daze009 said:Ok. You can control it with the isolator. If the fan never goes off when the isolator is turned on it sounds like the timer is faulty on the fan
Find the manual for the fan. It will tell you how to adjust the length of time it stays on for. If it never goes off it may well be faulty and if it is faulty a new fan will be the easiest option. They aren't very expensive.

Does the fan have a humidstat? This would keep it running for longer (at a low level) after the light is switched off, if the humidity is over a certain level.
This is great for reducing damp and condensation - and damp homes can be more expensive to heat.1 -

If it's been happening for 12 years then @Emmia may have hit on the answer, but if it's a change in the way it behaves then I'd have to agree that it's a fault and you should get an electrician to investigate. If a new fan is required you can get them without a timer, I bought one that has been installed in a new second bathroom that I've had built that stops running when the switch is pulled.1 -
Make sure that all water vapor has cleared before turning of or you risk mould and tap corrosionsummer_daze009 said:You can just switch the isolator on and off when you use the bathroom if you need the fan. To fix the problem you would need a qualified electrician to come and have a look at the fan1 -
Does your bathroom have a window that you can leave cracked open? If not and you switch the fan off immediately after bathing / showering you will almost certainly end up with a serious mould / damp problem.
If the fan has a humidstat and it's running then its dealing with an issue.

Can you clarify this?aayush said:
no as the sound is from the isolator as fan has gone off in the bath roomsummer_daze009 said:So if you turn off the isolator the fan keeps running?
So you mean there is still noise from somewhere (the isolator) even after the fan has stopped?
And it is is this you want to fix, rather than the fan itself?1 -
Once fan goes off in bath I can still hear fan running it is not from inside could isolated as if switch off switch from outside noise stopk_man said:

Has your bathroom got windows and can they be opened. How old is you house/flat. Some modern places have continuos ventilation which hums away gently in the baclground and then boosts to a higher level when the bathroom is in use.
A lot of fan shave a run on timer which keeps it running for a while after the light is turned of (some are adjustable and some not) likewise there are also fans which have a humidistat which keeps running until the bathroom humidity drops to a preset level.
Unless you can tell us what you've got and exactly what happens, including timings, then everything else is just going to be a guessNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
