3 5G router as just a modem?

Hi,
I am considering trying the 3 5G broadband, but I would prefer to keep using my own router. It looks like on some pictures there is a WAN port on their router, does anyone know if you can use their box in 'modem mode' just to feed internet to my router. Its how I do it with Virgin router currently.
Second, does anyone know if I take out the monthly deal to try it, can I switch it up to the cheaper 24 month contract if I like it?
Thanks.
