I Cancelled The Online Order But They Posted It Anyway

Hello,
So I bought an item from a Chinese website (I didn't know it was Chinese when I purchased the item) and after three weeks of it not being posted to me, I contacted them to complain. I pointed out time is critical and I needed them to post the item. Eventually we agreed upon a date - if my item had not been posted by that time, then I wanted a full refund. At this point it had been more than 30 days since I purchased the item. This new date we had agreed upon passed and the company did nothing. I requested a full refund. Eventually the company responded to say thay had now dispatched the item and would only issue a refund if I posted the item back to them.
As I requested the refund before they dispached the item and have this written in the email correspondence with the company, do I need to return the item in order to get my refund? My worry is, the cost of returning the item may be more than the cost of the item itself. I had already agreed with the company in correspondence that I wanted a full refund if they had not dispatched the item by a new calendar date, which then expired. I will happily return the item, but not if I have to pay for the return postage costs. What are my rights?

Sounds like your going to be out of luck. Often what you get will be nothing like you ordered. What did you order, how much and how did you pay?

Go back to the website and read the Ts and Cs of the retailer to see their returns policy.

Have to say what I've ordered and whats turned up has normally been exactly the same thing... sometimes quality hasnt been great but buying 40 chair foot replacements inc international postage for less than a pack of 4 cost here what did I really expect? Given I needed 6 chairs worth it was fine.powerful_Rogue said:Sounds like your going to be out of luck. Often what you get will be nothing like you ordered. I've not directly bought expensive things from them and have seen the horror stories on here and elsehwhere however have also seen similar stories from items bought on Amazon which I too have never had a problem with.
As to the OP... its going to be expensive to send whatever it is back and enforcing any type of rights against a Chinese company is very difficult. Hopefully what arrives is what you bought and either you can resell it or such if you wont have any need for it.0 -
Unless the item was expensive then I think OP is correct in that the costs of returning an unwanted item fully tracked and insured is likely to be very expensive. Far East sellers also have a habit of using different addresses which means item will never be delivered.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Apologies if I've missed it but have you actually taken delivery yet? If not, can't you simply refuse delivery?

Then the OP would be without a product and unlikely to get a refund.

If it's coming from China you will have zero percent chance of getting your money back. If you don't want the item try selling it on Fleabay or Farcebook.

Thinking about it, this is probably the best suggestion

A claim for what exactly? I doubt you can refuse a delivery and then start a chargeback.
