  • Morning. I have been unable to establish the email address of the CEO of the store that I visited. I can post the store name if that's "safe" and if anyone thinks they can help.
I'm chatting to the Facebook messenger account for the store chain and they tell me they can't tell me the CEO's email address... I found one address but it failed...
They refuse to help at all... just keep referring me to the ukparkingcontrol website and I'm sure that's going to be no help at this stage.

What's the CEO's name, and store name?

Is the name of the retail park managing agent not on the Welcome Plinth at the entrance that lists the stores?  They are the ones to complain to.

  • It's Decathlon UK and the CEO is Eric Mazillier (CEO UK / Managing Director Decathlon UK, as listed on LinkedIn. That shows an email address and an add-on for my browser shows some more but none of them show as valid...
I can find a mailing address for their Head Office on the government companies web-site.
I'll try to check the sign. Thank you.
  • Found it... it's JLL. Their UK CEO's email address is on their web-site so I'll try that later.
  • I have emailed the JLL CEO, Stephanie Hyde this morning.
Interestingly, I have received a reply from Decathlon's Customer Loyalty Manager even though I received a bounce-back when I emailed their CEO saying his address was unknown. Predictably it said I had to appeal to UKPC. I've replied to say I won't use the store if he can't help me. Why would I risk getting another ticket when using the store?
Finally, for now, the UKPC web-site appears to be unavailable this morning, pending some sort of authentication. It was up yesterday...
Apologies if the updates are too often. Just let me know. :-)
  • I do have another question... :-)

How is it acceptable / legal for UKPC to access the registered keeper details from DVLA?

  • Good news. JLL have emailed to say they have arranged for the parking charge to be cancelled in the light of being a "regular and valued visitor to the estate".

I'm not sure I'll park there again and Decathlon have lost a customer at that site because the person my issue was passed onto didn't seem to know what to do and kept referring me back to the store, even when I suggested they could contact the site owner to help..

Many thanks for the help I've been provided on this thread and on this forum generally.

    Great news!

    Two things:

You could send the JLL reply to the Decathlon person - to help others in future - and tell them this was simpler to resolve than it might appear and this is the person Decathlon should be contacting to help customers threatened by aggressive parking forms on retail parks that JLL run.

Secondly, revenge against PPCs is best served cold and strong and the below should be on your to-do list.

We need you, as a genuine PPC victim of intimidation, sharp practice and an 'extortion' attempt that would have added £70 on top (had you not seen this off) to respond robustly to the imminent Public Consultation.

The Government are regulating the parking industry and this final consultation will focus on the level of parking charges and banning of the false added £70 DRA 'fee' that too many honest motorists currently fall victim to.

It will need consumer input (powerful voices) but change is afoot. It's taken about 5 years to get to this stage:

And then the industry threw victims' money at it and blocked and delayed it - explained here:

Please now Bookmark BOTH threads and set up email alerts on your posting profile, so that you get an email alert when we post there, as we will, once the Public Consultation opens - anticipated in a few weeks...

We need people like you and your driving family & friends to respond in high numbers.  I am sure you want your voices heard to stop this happening again.
