    He hasn't told me what he does but i'm getting them so he must do! :) He then pays me what I would get in the payment from them and thats about all my income

    They were paid up to 16 until 2010 when it reduced to 12.

    No you gifted it to help UK plc 
    I used to get it back after I had paid about £3.5K - used to get nice letter saying "you have paid too much, fill in this form and we'll send you the money" and they always did
