You don't need to call anyone yet. Get your State Pension forecast and report exactly what is says here. You can also find out which years are not "full" from a State Pension perspective. It is these years that you will need to make full to qualify for the maxium pension. I think making payments now is a good idea.

If you want to make payments for missing years, you will need to call or write to the Future pensions centre. You have plenty of time to do this, so can wait for the influx of calls caused by the recent program to die down. Writing may be better if you want to avoid hanging on the phone.

What you can't just pay online?! I thought the gov was meant to be all futuristic!
if you HAVE to and are set up to make such payments (e,g you are self employed and earned enough), then you can just pay online. But these voluntary payments may or may not have any impact on your state pension forecast. So they need to make sure that you speak to someone first to ensure that you are not just wasting your money and to try to prevent people complaining later on that they didn't know what they were doing.

I think I need to knock this idea on the head as I can't get in the government gate way. It said my account was out of date and I had to get a new one. But it can't verify my details for some reason. So i'm going to give up on this. Thanks any way guys

We cannot confirm who you are

This means that some or all of the details you gave were incorrect.

You must make sure your documents and records with HMRC and other organisations are up to date.

We cannot confirm your identity if you use documents containing out of date information. For example, your name or address has changed.

    First get your forecast.

    What exactly does it say?

    Your forecast is £185.15 a week, £805.07 a month, £9,660.86 a year.

Estimate based on your National Insurance record up to 5 April 2022

    £135.66 a week

Forecast if you contribute another 10 years before 5 April 2049

    £185.15 a week

So do I need to add in or not?

    2004 to 2005
    Year is not full

    2007 to 2008
    Year is not full
    ===================================================================
    2007 to 2008
    Year is not full

    You have contributions from

    Paid employment: £29.86

Find out more about gaps in your record and how to check them.

You can make up the shortfall

Pay a voluntary contribution of £681.55 by 5 April 2023. This shortfall may increase after 5 April 2023.

How many full years pre 2016
How many full years post 2016
Is there a COPE amount shown
You don't need to pay any back years as you need 10 and have 27 to get there so if you are working it will be paid up by the time you are 51.  At £681 for the year I quite honestly wouldn't bother.

    Pre 16 = 17 years
    post 16 = 6 yrs

I see nothing anywhere about COPE :)

If the youngest is under 12, then make sure the Child Benefit is in your name - even if the other half earns over £60k and would have to pay it bakc, rather than decline it all together, you can still claim for just the NI credits

Yes I have 2 under 12 one is 10 and one is 7. Er I don't know what happened to CB! He told me he earned to much and we would have to pay some back. Which we did with a fine. He took over it so i've no idea! I get nothing for CB now though. But it seems that my tax is being paid as it shows as this:

    You have contributions from

    National Insurance credits: 52 weeks

These may have been added to your record if you were ill/disabled, unemployed, caring for someone full-time or on jury service.

    Does that sound right?

    What tax?

Do you mean that you have  opted not to receive the CB payments - see below.
