For his sins, 'our kid' still uses Farming On Line as his email provider.
Sadly, they are unable to allow access to emails using MS Outlook (Office 365) when travelling abroad, lord knows why, saying <<Use a VPN with a UK IP for both webmail & email access + improved PC wifi security. VPN is third party software, as such we do not recommend / support any specific flavour.>>

I have experience of using a VPN on my firestick, but how does he go about doing so in his W10 laptop on his two week holiday (Switzerland) next month?

  • Do you pay for a VPN and does it allow a number of users?

He could potentially download that VPN app and use it while on holiday.

Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid

  • Could use the free VPN built into the Opera browser, if web access is required.

I currently have a sub to a VPN, but that expires tomorrow ... and no plans to renew it.

He prefers to access his emails using the MS Outlook program (part of Office 365)

  • Windscribe VPN used to have a free option

Just scrolling back through here, and Proton gets recommended a few times.
Do you just set it to start with W10 and then it runs in the background giving a UK IP address?

  • Usually you can set a VPN to load at start up or turn on as and when needed.

I just switch mine on when I need to then off after I have finshed with it.

Any ideas which ones do offer a UK IP address?
  • Not free but I use Surfshark as it covers unlmited devices.
