After all ,they need to make savings so that they can carry on paying so called football "experts" obscene amounts to pontificate on other obscenely paid "sportsmen" once or twice a week !!Bradden said:I fail to see the issue? The licence is available online to view/download if needed. Why would anyone insist on a peice of paper being posted for them to file for a year? The resources this takes could be better used elsewhere I believe.0 -
Back to your original question Harry, yes this it is possible to get a paper licence each year.HarryIb said:I refuse to deal with them online and I want a paper licence every year. I'm contemplating stopping the DD and paying by SO instead, but I wonder whether even that will force them to send a paper licence. Any ideas?
They way to do this is cancel your direct debit once this annual payment goes through. (If you pay by monthly DD cancel if after the last payment that covers the current licence (monthly is 6 months in advance and 6 months in arrears for the annual fee)).
You will then have a fixed purchase licence that expires in 12 months.
They will send a renewal letter in this instance.
Just rock up to your nearest paypoint and pay for the licence fee with a debit card (or cash if you want). This can be done with a renewal letter or with no paperwork, they will ask for your name and address and issue you with a paper paypoint receipt which is your licence.2 -
What replies were you after Harry ?HarryIb said:
Oh yes, I never thought of doing that. Silly me, coming to a forum like this for a - hopefully - quick answer, when I could spend an hour on hold or post a letter with a stamp.oldernonethewiser said:You could write to them or phone them to clarify.Legalised theft - grow up.
'Legalised theft' - I can't think of a better description without resorting to profanity.
What a welcoming place this is! I think I might just call it a day on this 'forum'.0 -
There is no purpose to the dead tree version. You don't need it for anything.
