If you're boxing in the area to the right of the door where are you planning on putting the radiator?
Does the bathroom actually need doing? It really doesn't look that old to me!
This is probably the 4th bathroom renovation related thread we've had on here recently that have been quoted a similar price to yourself. You could potentially receive a lower quote if you shopped around but this doesn't seem unusually high. Tradespeople are expensive at the moment.
Personally I'd wait. We're on the cusp of a recession (if not already in one) and one of the first things people cut during financial hard times is home renovations. I expect at some point soon tradespeople will be fighting one another for available work and that'll only lead to lower prices.

Thanks for your input you make a good point. And I completely understand there have been external factors affecting the price of things. I was just shocked cause its really not a big bathroom! But as I've said, I have no idea how much it could cost.
The main reason we want it doing is because we really need a bath. I unfortunately had a miscarriage and if only I could have had a bath to relive some of the physical pain. Plus would be needed for children further down the line (hopefully)
This bathroom is a total botch job and corners have been cut everywhere. We nearly didn't buy the house due to the bathroom and we've lived with it for 5 years now.
If you know what you want, then you can price materials up and get a install only quote.
I could, but like I said, I need some kind of design element in what to do with the boiler/bulkhead corner. If nothing can be done then I know I'd like a stud wall built/airing cupboard reinstated.
I’ve just called round to a customer who’s had the bathroom materials delivered yesterday to check all has been delivered, starting rip out Tuesday install Wednesday onwards. Within 10 minutes of being there now she wants a stud wall building so she can have 2 pockets in the wall to put soap in etc. 🤔
I was quoted £6.5k for labour on a 4msq bathroom. We opted for some more expensive things (like underfloor heating) but some less expensive things (like only tiling around the bath/shower and painting everywhere else). £15k does seem like quite a lot though, but it might just be because of parts included.
we had it done last April and we paid £3124 labour for full tile, 6 spotlights, freestanding bath to replace shower as have one in en suite, reposition toilet, sink and electric mirror
was like this (looks ok but like yours every corner possible cut! Taps leaked, stone is actually PVC panel, vinyl flooring no undrlay so cracked and no mirror in front of sink) and no extractor fan so like a sweaty swamp
we supplied all the parts
Made a huge difference to our enjoyment of the room. Extracts out through the ceiling

wow what a difference! I love your freestanding bath. Id rather have one with hand shower but husband wants one overhead so I've had to compromise!

Your actually looks bigger than ours too!
Yea the old layout was awful - the wall where the mirror is now had nothing at all and shaving with a little mirror was totally crap, anytime you had a bath or a shower it was like the movie The Fog. The flooring was in hundreds of pieces and waterfall taps overshot the the bath and sink when above about halfway on. Was really bad! Much better use of space now, we also did the small cupboard in there too to make more use of the space and stop it being such an eyesore
Not perfect but better than it was for a bit of space and some shelves (we added the shelves when bathroom was done but painted them & inside later)
The guy that did our bathroom was fine with moving toilet and sink etc. he did our en/ asuite and was great at making it work with little space, he wasn't the cheapest but was far from the most expensive and a lot told us they couldn't move things around.
en suite was the same - shower leaked, tiny dark room with bad lighting and no radiator so it was Baltic in winter - same flooring as bathroom with no ply underlay so cracked

We're short of something like 220,000 construction workers. When reputable regular paying companies can't get trades, it's a real problem.
It's only getting worse as the workforce is ageing because one day everyone decided that only thick people work in construction so didn't bother putting decent training in place. Then we stopped the europeans from working here as well in an act of genius.
We're reaping what was sown.
Even aside from that, good people will always be in demand.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

My son is a gas safety engineer and he fits loads of boilers in the loft and they are rarely boarded
