As with children, they get bored easily. A kid in a candy store. I don’t argue, just remove the item again when they have gone in search of the next greedy treat. Perhaps avoid the sugar aisles completely?
Your budget, you are the grown up, and you set the good example. Children cannot see that if the money is spent on sweets there will be no meals.
I wondered why some men are locked in the car while the wife goes round just the essential aisles of the supermarket.
I am not so well some days and shopping is tiring, I get DH to fetch some essential items, like the milk, which keeps him occupied in the supermarket. I ask him to limit yellow sticker cakes to the least sugary one. He chooses several because he says, he knows they are my favourites. I was so exasperated recently I warned him that if all the sugar gave him a stroke I would put him in the care home next to his ****** mother.
(Please will someone buy the last of the clementine marzipan, reduced to 75p at Adsa.)8 -
Perfectly suitable Easter eggs are £3.00 in tescos with better ones for £6.00. I buy them from my gift budget. My children aged 40 and 42,are more into them than the grandchildren! 🤣
Leaving hubby locked in the car whilst I do supermarket shop is a lovely idea. They should set up a play area for them!! 😂craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

308/600 Spent my normal 50 at fruit and veg shop I spend a third of my budget there but it means we have always got snacks in and I am also trying to improve our diets so we dont get ill. The man in the shop asks me if i get through it all and I said yes we do. We dont eat much in the way of processed at the moment, Spending 15 a week on 5 panets of berries is excessive but they are always the first to go in my home.21k savings no debt9

Thank you whoever it was who suggested putting ginger in the freezer and grating it frozen skin and all. It worked beautifully, I hardly use ginger and this is a fantastic way to have no waste. I also bought a bag of frozen garlic for the same reason and that is working well as well.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

£10.69 spent at Asda, £9.74 with the 10% Blue Light Card discount.
£28.79 for the week.
£59.02 so far for March.
Milk x2, evap x2, cream, oranges, a courgette, black pudding, lard, not much else.
We were there at the right moment for 6 rotisserie chicken drumsticks for 40p. I took the meat off the bones for dinner and simmered them up for some stock. There was some dripping in the bag, half a ramekin full, soup, I think.
(The scrummy clementine marzipan was reduced to 37p. It would have been a shame to leave it. It will still be in date for the Easter Simnel cake. )6 -
Checked the banks this morning and the milkman milk is up by another 3p a pint. If it does that again I will have to seriously consider cancelling it. Once DH can drive again he can go for milk to the local Coop (for the time-being he has still got dissolving stitch and air bubble in his eye, and he has not driven since November due to detached retina - twice, and closely monitored remedial work)Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
