phone mast near flat

Arguing whether there really are health risks or not is really irrelevant isn't it? As long a a percentage of people worry about the proximity of mobine phone masts, microwave towers, etc. this is going to affect the desirability of nearby houses and flats. It will make these flats less desirable and a bit more problematic to sell with the visual prominence of this tower adding to the problem. This should be reflected in the price being asked and paid I would have thought.0

Most 'issues' with housing aren't really issues at all nor really bother people. Their only concern is future buyers opinions, who also don't really care but also worry about what their future buyers might think. It's quite an insane setup really but we are where we are. Because of this though I would expect it to be cheaper than other comparable properties.

Somewhat out of date, but a more detailed view for those who can understand/interpret these things.

I think the info in the following link is very interesting - see what you think.

No, I wouldn't buy near that. It's an area that looks plain ugly and spoils the whole effect, sadly.
One of my friends has lived in a really affluent area with an electricity pylon too near, in my opinion, to her house. She loves it there and doesn't ever want to leave.
So really, it's horses for courses and if you like it, then go for it.
Of course, the long term effects of things like phone masts, etc. aren't known - and won't be for many years to come - so whether or not they are a health hazard no-one can really say for sure, not even those who may ridicule the idea that they could be harmful. They could. But on the other hand, they may not. We just don't know.
I do have a mobile phone but never use it for phone calls, so hopefully I can relax safe in the knowledge that my brain won't fry just yet. If ever. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Moreton Ave - Google MapsThe tower is used for mobile phone communications, but according to the planning documents there are other communication systems installed as well. That fits with them using what is described as a "DC170 Heavy Duty Switch Tower" rather than a monopole mast (the more common type of 'mobile phone mast').Some of the previous mobile phone antennas have been removed, which is why it now looks relatively bare. However, this does leave spare capacity for additional equipment to be added in the future. The site apparently has a standby diesel generator as well, which in a rural area might be a concern (from a noise point of view) but being located in an industrial/manufacturing area is more likely to blend into the background noise most of the time.Personally I wouldn't buy here due to the industrial/manufacturing activity. So it is hard to say whether the mast alone (with capacity for future additions) would influence me.0 -
