The Govt. out of the kindness of their heart?! Have credited us with 2 payments of £600 despite me informing them of the error. I'm just not sure how to put this right especially as it shows an inflated income at atime when accuracy is needed. Please somebody help me.

What is your living situation?
If there are two of you who each separately claim Pension Credit (i.e. house/flatmates, not a couple) and were born before 26 September 1942 then you are both entitled to that amount.

Otherwise you can contact the service via the contact details on this page https://www.gov.uk/winter-fuel-payment/report-change-circumstances
If they don't respond within a few weeks maybe bring it to the attention of your MP, that you want to pay this money back and are unable to.0 -
In a previous thread you mentioned your husband is claiming their State pension.. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6297331/state-pension-withdrawals#latestIf you're also claiming your state pension then the money you recieved is likely to be the Winter Fuel Payment, as advised by Spoonie.

If OP is married and living together then they should only get one payment of £600 and the second payment is incorrect as OP says.poppy12345 said:In a previous thread you mentioned your husband is claiming their State pension.. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6297331/state-pension-withdrawals#latestIf you're also claiming your state pension then the money you recieved is likely to be the Winter Fuel Payment, as advised by Spoonie.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated.
