Hi
No before I moved I told Eon (who supplied last house) I was moving so gave them details of new house and opening readings when i moved. Then i put in reading a few days later also, got a fright about the bill this generated and tried to move to OVO. A few weeks passed and i realised this hadn't worked0 -
Yes - some suppliers do give the impression they can sort this sort of thing out, in practice however it doesn't usually seem to happen and ends up in a muddle as you've found.
I'd suggest that you take things back to the start - confirm to the original supplier for the property that you have been living there since X date - give them the readings from X date. Tell Eon that their attempt to switch you has failed and so you need them to close off your account at your leaving date for your old property, and you will be in touch separately if you still wish to arrange a switch. They can then arrange a final bill for you from your old house if this has not already happened - with luck the financial aspect will get sorted in that process.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

THEN move to whichever supplier you want.
all this has probably been caused by things chopping and changing back and forward so they need to settle or your just keeping the mess going.
the cap is the cap so its not like the bill would be any different anyway and you can sort it all out later.Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you. Anne Lamott
It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?
Please consider buying some pet food and giving it to your local food bank collection or animal charity. Animals aren't to blame for the cost of living crisis.1 -
Thanks, i just wasnt sure about rates etc but now know that whomever im with the price will be pretty much the same so ill just wait it out0

I'd back what ariarnia is saying OP - apologies, the understanding I took from your post was that you had been told officially that the switch had failed. If that is not the case then yes, trying to start again could just confuse things perhaps.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hi
I have been told by OVO that it failed, its just Eon don't seem to know that and im not being billed by them for Gas.0 -
Still no email from Eon saying my Gas has gone back to them!
On OVOs website it now has daily Gas charges continuing after they told me last week that everything was cancelled!
Anyway i will resist calling either of them and wait0 -
I’ve still not had a gas bill through from Eon. OVOs website now says that i have switched supplier when I log into their site, so that seems to have updated.
do you think I should put a meter read into the Eon website to trigger a bill?
don’t want to leave it much longer and get a nasty surprise!0
