ADR claim status Objected

I put in a claim against TUI via ADR as TUI had ignored my original claim. This was accepted in September. In January the status was changed to Objected. What does this mean? I had sent a message to ADR but have had no response.

Would it not be where TUI Airways have responded to ADR and raised an objection to your claim?

Any idea why TUI ignored your claim?  Did you claim via their process shown on their website?  Was the claim for EU/UK 261 compensation or a claim for expenses incurred?  Separate claims for each.
  • I claimed via the TUI website for the EU/UK 261 compensation. Despite chasing using the ref number TUI gave me they never responded which is why I went down the ADR route. There is nothing to indicate why they have objected

Seems strange not to receive any response from TUI.

Was this a recent claim?  If so you might have to give them time.

Was the delay in arrival 3hrs+?  Why was the flight delayed?

Might be worth contacting TUI Airways via one of their social media channels and request someone review your claim case.
  • Claimed in June. I have them the stratify amount of time before I could escalate it via ADR. Flight delay was over 3 hours due to technical problem with the plane.

I had always thought that you as the claimant needed to have reached a dead lock position with the airline prior to going to ADR.  Really not sure how that will work when you say you have had no response from TUI.

It seems strange that TUI have not responded from a claim made in June 2022.  Which webform did you complete for your claim? Was it definitely a TUI Airways flight (TOM) and not one sub leased by TUI (BY4/BY5/BY6 flight prefix).

I wonder were worth submitting a claim again.
  • Yes definitely a TOM flight and received an email with a reference number from TUI after posting, then chased 3 times and got no response from TUI so only alternative is then ADR
