I saw that article. Lots of use of the F word, and he still ended up paying, albeit a reduced amount.

Whilst I thought it was a novel approach, it still cost the motorist time and money. There were lots of things missing that could have been included had the appeal been made by a human.
I married my cousin. I had to...

It was in fact awful because it admitted to driving!

The templates here are much better.

I did have a play and it is quite limited to the references it uses eg case law.

This is a classic example of shoddy journalism. The guy was just (un)lucky as, had he been a visitor to these forums, he wouldn't have had to pay a penny. The author of the article could have done a bit of research but obviously didn't.

Expect many more visitors here when, eventually, NCP gets fed up with offering discounted "fines" as the masses start to try the same trick and we see all these misguided "drivers" being chased for the full "fine".  :#

I assume they googled for their 'contact us' but don't forget these are 100% winnable at POPLA if you just don't say who was driving, and point out there can be no keeper liability.

Letter to Gatwick and MP done! Thank you!
With regard to POPLA surely it’s rather suspect to not declare who was driving! I mean to maintain the moral high ground and all that!

Not at all. The driver does not have to be named. Anyway you are not at appeal stage so it's a moot point and you wouldn't hide who was driving in a court case.

Ok, thank you. Sadly it’s too late for us to use POPLA!
