CCL.. fingers and toes crossed!!
Beasties fed now heading up to bed.
The chipmunks in my brain are in overdrive.. I'm not sure I can cope with this weekend, I have a pain in my chest already before we even get there! I am too chilled for this kind of aggravation!
I need to dig put some knitting I think.. see if I can switch off the brain.. I need to order some green wool for a poncho for DD2..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)9 -
Hallooooo my lovelies xx
I'm here! I survived another week at the paid stuff.! Just! Thursday and Friday were HOR REN DUSS. Short staffed and pushed and pushed until I had a mini meltdown. Short but intense. And exhausting. Sooo glad to come home and flop. And I didn't quit - just as well as a letter arrived this week saying the rent is going up £7.40 a week from April. It usually goes up £1.50 - £2 each year, so I wasn't expecting such a jump. Apparently it's linked to inflation and would have been more but the Government have capped how much they can put it up.
I've worked out a rough budget - as working more hours is NOT an option I'm prepared to consider - which I'll tweak once I know exactly how much C.Tax and Water payments are.
When I arrived home yesterday the paper recycling box had blown over and the contents were scattered over the back garden, so I picked them up and tucked the box in a sheltered corner in case more hoolies descend. I also put out all the cardboard and cans that were sat on the kitchen worktop waiting to leave the building. Amazing how much such a little thing makes a difference.
Today is a new day. I'm feeling frayed at the edges and tired, tired, tired, but I'm up, made my bed, brought down the laundry hamper and supped my first brew.
Round 1
Sort washing into loads
Set first load swishing
Breakfast and Brew 2
Get dressed
Feed the birds
Put out the rubbish and recycling
WUDUPA
And relax. Ommmmmm.
Love to all

Morning all.
Made it to the weekend. Up with before the lark this morning. Grrrr, on a Saturday as well. Finished my book in bed as it was and still is so cold. Up and at ‘em - wm on, damp washing now hanging in the utility and dining rooms. Casserole into the sc. Sc decides to give up the ghost after 20 minutes. Socket checked. Lead checked. Nope it is the sc itself. Casserole decanted into cast iron pot (right at the back of the cupboard, obviously), swiftly put on the hob. Casserole now raging away on the lowest possible gas so I am stirring it every 5 minutes. So much for a hassle free dinner. Job for later: order new sc. Sometimes living well away from a town has its disadvantages. Still, the casserole smells good. Just as long as I can keep it from burning.Other plans? Cba to rediscover the allotment, as it’s too cold. Might take the vacuum cleaner for a walk around the downstairs. DH is in front of the laptop in the office. You would have thought that 5 days a week doing the same would have been enough. Apparently not.Hugs and love to all x9 -
Round.. have a look at a water meter... living alone it might serve you better than an annual bill.. also you can have up to 2 years to request its removal should it not be suitable for you. Also.. there are the water support for bill help and water sure for those with meters to reduce the annual cost. Do you already have the single person council tax discount? That saves 25% I think.
WM's both on
S&S'd the kitchen
TD on
1 pile sorted for the line.
Girls deposited at dance until 12.
Breakfast snaffled.. I was starved
Having a cuppa then I will get on the laundry shuffle.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)8 -

Downstairs has been shown the duster and vacuum cleaner. Turfed out a few cds when I passed the cabinet. No doubt DH will think of a million reasons to keep them. Finance frog has been nibbled, hopefully will be completely swallowed in the next week.
Meant to say earlier:
YL, I hope yesterday went ok for you and DS x
CCL - fingers crossed for your DH!
Dfw, do you by any chance do contract loft clearance??! I am seriously impressed 🤩. I could spend a month up in our’s and not make inroads..
Iona, good news. The waggy finger has been stood down x8 -
Round 1 nearly done. Not WUDUPA yet. But I have sploshed bleach down the loo and draped the first WM load on the airer. 2nd load is having an extra spin before it gets draped too.
piggers - I do have the 25% discount on my C. Tax. I'll look into a water meter. I can tell you what frightens me. I'm petrified that they'll put in a water meter there'll be an unknown leak somewhere and I'll end up with an astronomical bill. I'm also thinking about cancelling my BT broadband and landline and adding more GB to my phone contract. I don't have a laptop or PC. One or two friends ring me on the landline but apart from that I don't use it. It's just losing my bt email address that concerns me. I do have a Gmail address. I guess it would just be a case of notifying everyone that they should use the Gmail address. But it's all so 'outside my comfort zone' in fact just writing it down is making me nauseous.
I an so fed up with anxiety and fear haunting my every step / proposed step. I even get anxious about my monthly trips to the petrol station to fill up and the pharmacy to pick up repeat prescription. I do it EVERY MONTH and have done for years but every time it's a big deal. So annoying 🙄
Anyhoo I'm meeting L at the posh farm shop cafe this afternoon. So I'd better get the washing draped then get changed.
The sun is coming out. My orchid is flowering again. And a blackbird stood on the roof of the bird house earlier....first time a bird has been near it. So it's not all gloom and doom.
Big hugs to all

We don't even have a phone in our landline, haven't done for years.. whenever it rang we would all look at one another and ask what was wrong with whoever was ringing.. if they knew us they'd ring the mobile. I need to keep it though, there is a hair dressers who are desperate for my phone number and they can't have it because it is mine! I Only use my hotmail email.. accessible from everywhere and easy and emails stored remotely so less likely to be lost.
Do not buy data bundles, get a new tariff.. the O2 flex you can get the tariff changed the months you are likely to use more data.. they all have their own version.
I have a horrible crampy stomach pain.. not sure if AF is thinking she might visit or if I have a bug of some sort.. I just know it is painful.
I need to do something in this hovel, I won't get a thing done tomorrow.. though I am tempted to stay home if I still feel like this.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)6
